As you all may not know... this last year I made a change in my life which rooted me up from where my career and where the place I called home was. I moved to Lethbridge, Alberta to be with my parents. Especially with my ailing mother. This might seem like it is a large sacrifice, and at first - I thought that it was, but I have learned over these past 9 months that this is a precious time, a rare opportunity where I can serve the two people who sacrificed so much for me. It is truly a remarkable gift.
During Christmas... my brother and his family invited us to join with them in the 100-Day Challenge. I do hope that you will also take part. I feel that we can change the world if we just have a voice. We can see what a lack of service and love can bring to ones life, family, community and world. You just have to turn on the T.V. and watch the news - we see families loosing their homes, their jobs, communities out of control and government of the brink of collapse. But if start with ourselves we can make a difference.
I invite you to join with me over the next 100-days,to reflect on the life of Jesus Christ, to strengthen your family relationships and to become involved in your community through service.
THE CHALLENGE:
- Everyday meditate/pray
- Everyday have meaningful scripture study (see 100-day reading chart)
- Weekly share a meaningful family time
- Weekly be involved in doing community service
All my best to you and your family in 2012.
